Welcome to Social Compass Counseling RI
Our Philosophy
My practice focuses on building social skills for children that need some direct instruction in order to make those important social connections. Together we can work on play skills so that your child has a solid foundation to bring to peer interactions. The next steps are understanding friendship, how to choose good friends and how to maintain positive relationships. Perspective taking, empathy and understanding the unwritten rules of the social world are all topics essential to a happy child or adolescent. Tweens and Teens that need assistance building coping skills and building positive self worth will build these skill sets
As an educator and clinician for over 25 years I understand the unique needs of children and their parents. My professional career has been focused on helping children build healthy relationships with their peers, and their families.
